Research
An integral part of the project is also research of topics connected with Robovox:
Historical development of robotic design, robotic imagination and the appearence of robots in different media, especially literature. A special focus is made on Eastern europe- the Slavic origins of robotics and the importance and symbolical usage of public momuments in the countries behind the iron curtain. Furthermore, the problems of public- civil appropriation and corporate colonization of public space are discussed.
Socio- cultural topics include the media and methods of free speech, the ambivalent relationship between machines and men and the power of the crowd and of the network in public manifestations and virtual communities.
A comparative analysis of the messages that RoboVox receives in different parts of the world (North and South Europe, north and Sount America, Asia) will be made when the tour is concluded.
