Plaid (WARP)

Plaid is a British electronic music duo comprising Andy Turner and Ed Handley, taking their name from the different interweaving threads of plaid cloth. They are former members of The Black Dog and used many other names, such as Atypic (Andrew Turner) and Balil (Ed Handley), before settling on Plaid. They have collaborated with female singers Mara Carlyle, Nicolette and Björk, and have released records on the labels Clear, Peacefrog, Black Dog Productions, and Warp Records.

Aside from their own material, Plaid have done extensive remix work for many other artists, including Red Snapper, Björk, Goldfrapp, and The Irresistible Force. Parts in the Post (2003) contains just a handful of Plaid's remix work to date.

Plaid often works collaboratively with video artist Bob Jaroc, whose animations accompanied the music during live performances. They have developed a DVD consisting of new material and video artwork to accompany the music, entitled Greedy Baby. The project was completed on July 20 2005, and was first shown at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in the South Bank Centre, and subsequently at the BFI Imax cinema in Waterloo, London. Greedy Baby was released on DVD from Warp Records on June 26, 2006.

Vector Lovers (SOMA, Iwari)

Vector Lovers is the moniker used by British electronic music producer Martin Wheeler. Wheeler, as described by Soma Records (his current label) is a "computer nerd" and "80s-obsessed knob-twiddler" and creates music which falls into the intelligent dance music (IDM) and electro genres. His music has been compared to and is influenced by such acts as Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode.

As Vector Lovers, Wheeler has released several singles and EPs, as well as three full-length albums. Early Vector Lovers' releases were through his own Iwari record label (one very early release was made as Balloon - the name was changed to Vector Lovers when he discovered that there already was a band called Balloon). Music has also been released under the names Rosenbaum and Badly Born Droid.

In 2006 Wheeler contributed production duties to Tracey Thorn's album Out of the Woods, released in March 2007.

Random Logic (rx:tx)

Random Logic alias Gregor Zemljic & Miha Klemencic are the longest established stars of the Slovene minimal music scene. They have released tracks under numerous names for projects such as Anorak, Jeremdam, Paldrame, Tadpole, Amderma, Savinto, Medvedek Robotek and their discography with these projects is already impressive. Labels they have released for include Communiqué, The Black Label, Kial, Planet Rhythm, and Tresor. Top techno/electonica DJs play their records worldwide. They have also written music for major and alternative theatre, ballet and experimental art performances (they are collaborating extensively with the artist Marko Peljhan on his multimedia projects) and also for films. In the year 2000 they were awarded the Studio City Boomerang Award (alternative Slovenian music awards) for the best live techno act in Slovenia and recently they won 1st prize at The 2002 RFI (Radio France International) Musiques Electroniques Award for the best electronic project in Central and Eastern Europe. They have worked as producers on many popular and non-commercial projects (among others with Laibach) and they keep close and creative ties with other creators of the Slovene computer music and electronic scene.

DJ Borka (Codeep)

BORKA is a 26 years old DJ/producer/promotor from Ljubljana, he's been spinning records since 1999. His style is quite eclectic: he plays breaks, from funky breaks, dubby breaks to nu-skool. He also plays drum n' bass (from deep & dubby stuff to liquid funk...), hiphop (mostly abstract, instrumental and leftfield beats, headz), and might add a scratch rutine to his set. Has played all over Slovenia and abroad: Croatia, Hungary, Germany, Austria, France, Great Britain, Norway, Serbia, Bosnia... with various international artists. His set was played on the infamous London based radio Kiss FM (in the Tayo Poopola show). Borka is a member of a dj/vj/someotherstuff collective called Code.EP. He's also producing music. Has few releases on few compilations, does production/beats for the Ironic Tronic project and some other hiphop acts. Besides deejaying Borka has worked on various projects: a turntables/double bass act with bass player Tomaz Grom, music for a feature movie, animations and theatre... Does promotional/program work for club K4 (mainly dn'b, freestyle & hiphopish events), done nights with deejays like Bonobo, Zinc, Big Bud, Dj Format, Danny Breaks, Dj Yoda, Quantic ... Has a radio show called BreakWave on Radio Student which is dedicated to presenting fresh breakbeats in the broadest sense of the word. Writes music reviews for magazines Mladina and Muska.

Octex (rx:tx)

Octex aka Jernej Marusic, has been experimenting with music equipment since late 90s, when he fell in love with the sound of old analog synthesizers. In all this years he found himself in doing Organic Crackle and Tone EXperiments (Octex), fusing his diverse infuences with a special flavor of Ljubljana.

This resulted in releases on numerous compilations, the first one being Eletrotehnika Slavenika that later mutated into Tehnika 1. One of his tracks from Tehnika 1 already got noticed by the legendary John Peel and played on his radio show on BBC.
In 2002 he has release his debut album Idei Lahesna on Tehnika records, which received high praises from both critics and the public. His self-made video for track "Emergon" got played on such TV stations as VIVA and Onyx TV, which is quite surprising for this style of music.

In 2003 he has received Bumerang Award for best newcomer of the year, and for second year in the row, he was selected as one of the 10 finalist for Radio France International Electronic Music Award.

In the mean time he has become one of the most active Slovenian live acts, and has performed as such prominent festivals as Club Transmediale, FutureSonic, ISEA, La Batie, Nuit Blanche, Exit... either solo or as part of multimedia project Signal-Sever.
He’s also regularly playing at Chilli Space events and at the legendary Club K4 in Ljubljana, where he was resident in the 2003/2004 season.

Password is the first EP released by User Name. Even though you may find the titles a bit funny or ironic, what you will experience will not leave you indifferent - deep, gloomy atmospheres, even scary moments, persistent dark hooks that are destined to draw you in.
